There are 2 types of 8mm film. There is regular 8mm and Super 8mm. The regular 8mm was developed by Kodak during the Great Depression and released into the market in 1932. Super 8 film was released in 1965 to be adopted by the amateur film makers. It had better image quality and was easier to maintain. We can scan the 8mm in 1080p and 720p. Pricing can be found here! 16mm film was developed in 1923 by Kodak. During the 20s, the format was referred to as sub-standard by the professional industry. Today, there is 1 major supplier of 16mm film which is Kodak. 16mm film is still used in television today such as the Walking Dead. Pricing can be found here!
